Born from a wild dream of two opticians who happen to fall in love with each other and eyewear; Anne et Valentin is a French eyewear brand founded in 1981. Oliver Peoples started in 1986 when brothers Larry and Dennis Leight trusted their passion and opened their first optical boutique on legendary Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. Earlier that year, they purchased an estate collection of vintage American-made eyewear. The assortment included thousands of beautifully filigreed rimless and metal frames, including clip-on metal sunglasses. All the frames were unworn, in mint condition and in their original packaging. It was a motherload for the two brothers, given their love for 1940s – 1960s eyewear. The designs have stayed true to the original “retro” look.
